Geesh, I think we're really splitting hair over what I think is a good spanking scene. First of all folks, hello.....IT'S TV OR A MOVIE. It's not the ACTRESS who is supposed to be receiving the spanking, but her CHARACTER! When I first saw that soap way back in 1986, I didn't think about Ms. Castro deserving the spanking, but her character. While you're watching the movie or tv show, you don't sit there analyzing and thinking, "Gee, is that really the actress getting a spanking or some stunt woman?" Holey Moley, if a stunt woman has as nice a butt as the lead actress, I'm still excited. Seeing a pretty derriere getting paddled is well...Shangri-La to me regardless of who the pretty female is.
Second of all, the director chose a camera angle facing the characters behind the kitchen table. Where the table and chair were situated there wasn't any other way to shoot the angle. He also chose to get a close up of her lower body as we see the actor striking her bottom and then we see closeups of her agonized face. You even see the corner of the table near her face. Yes, could there have been editing or could they have wasted money on a stunt woman to take a few whacks on the behind? Sure, but it's really a moot point. We all could go back and probably analyze a bunch of spankings from the Cinema Swats series and find lots of spanking scenes where you don't see the face and actress's bottom at the same time.
Heck, does one really believe when they see a fight scene in the movies, that the actors or even stunt men are really slugging each other in the face. Shh-hhh, don't tell anyone, but I have news for you. It's CAMERA ANGLES that make it look so realistic. With the way modern technology is today, you could believe that all the actresses or stuntwomen (if you choose to believe some actresses substitute) are getting spankings, when in reality, it's all done with fancy graphics or camera angles.
We're not talking about Spankos who have a fetish for spanking in these movies. These are not Shadow Lane or NuWest productions where you have ladies who enjoy having their bottoms really smacked. Actresses in mainstream are not spanked for very long nor do I think it's very hard. In most cases, the movie isn't about spanking, but a character who deserves one and it's just a small scene in the main process of the movie; not an actress who necessarily likes a spanking or deserves a spanking.
On some occasions the actor does get carried away and make it more realistic than INTENDED. I saw an interview (it's on youtube) where Maureen O'Hara talked about how she was teasing John Wayne (who really was a big, loveable guy) about being too soft and he didn't really hit hard. The Duke took up the challenge and Maureen really did wind up with a bruised butt. I also remember seeing Kathyrn Grayson and Howard Keel on the Tonight Show in the early 70's and they talked about the fun they had making the movie, "Kiss Me Kate." Ms. Grayson talked about the scene where her character and Howard's character spar with each other on stage. She mentioned how she really did elbow Howard in the ribs hard and how sore he got. She also knew there was a spanking scene for her character and that Howard would probably seek revenge by giving it to her really hard; so she had hidden a board underneath all her clothing and when he spanked her his hand really felt it. Howard laughed and said how his hand hurt when he first struck her, but that take was cut and in take two, the board was removed and the mischievious Ms. Grayson as well as her character, Lili Vanessi got the spanking she deserved. Hey, even if the scene was shot with her having a board or extra padding to protect her....who cares? Who cares even if it would have been a pretty stunt woman. Just the sight of a pretty actress over a guy's knee receiving a spanking is enough for me. I don't care about realism in movies because I don't expect total realism in these types of movies. When I want realism, I go see Dommes who switch in NYC dungeons; so I can spank them myself and have them return the favor. Now that's REAL!! The ACTRESS doesn't deserve a spanking. It's her character and like all movies, I LOVE TO USE MY IMAGINATION and believe it really is a hard spanking and it's a very pretty woman who is receiving one!! That's really what it's all about folks.
